A pair of finely carved lindenwood cow groups grazing under trees. These would originally have held glass vases for stems. Now they make good candlesticks. Dating to around 1860-80 these would have been carved in or near Brienz, Switzerland.
There is one small chip to the horn of one cow, this seems to be the only damage and is not very noticeable.
