Yew Tree Barn is home to Wilson Reclamation Services where we have been preserving the history of days gone by with our architectural reclamation service since 1986. Over the years an incredibly diverse range of antiques come and go through the doors at Yew Tree Barn, Low Newton. From its small beginnings in a corner of the stunning, spacious, 19th century traditional Westmorland barn in the beautiful Lake District countryside, Wilson Reclamation Services Ltd (WRS) has become one of the foremost architectural salvage and antique yards in the UK.  

The barn is now an even more exciting place to visit. With the addition of artisan studios joining Harry’s CafeBar, and the Gallery, there really is something for everyone here so make sure you allow plenty of browsing time!

There is always something new to see at the barn, whether it is row upon row of Edwardian cast iron baths, Victorian fire surrounds, stone fountains, masses of chimney pots or a traditional red post box. You might discover church pews, Art Deco fireplaces, traditional cooking ranges, and masses of brass taps, or you could find a Westmorland court cupboard, an old punching-in clock, and a billiards table. The extensive ironmongery section has hundreds of doorknobs, handles, letter plates, knockers, and more.

The eclectic mix is not restricted to domestic antiques. The YTB team have rescued valuable pieces of history from demolition including whole church interiors, stained glass windows and all; giant doors from stately homes, a complete Victorian conservatory; and life-size stone sculptures of gargoyles, lions and wild boar.

Clients in search of a particular architectural gem are put in the request book, and Clive and his team will be on the look out to find it. If anything needs renovation or restoration, the team has the expertise and can provide advice.

In 2006 the business expanded within the barn interior into a new gallery space, complete with original beams and whitewashed walls. The Gallery offers a fantastic selection of stylish, high quality and wonderfully designed goods including paintings, watercolours, prints, sculpture, ceramics, gifts, jewellery, travel bags, textiles, accessories, toiletries, books and cards. In this charming and relaxed space there are also select pieces of furniture and furnishings that sit alongside any of the antiques perfectly.

Everyone involved at Yew Tree Barn takes a great pride in offering fantastic customer service to all our visitors, and delight in making friends with many of them who return time after time.

2013 saw more changes, with Harry, youngest member of the Wilson clan,  joining the family business.  The refurbishment of the new Harry’s was largely masterminded by him, and although Harry isn't in there (other than enjoying the produce; and preferring the architectural antiques side of the business) he’s a good barista! 

 2016  - the whole Wilson family are now involved as James, Harry's older brother moved north from London to pursue his passion for garden antiques and help develop the next generation of business at Yew Tree Barn. 

2020 - James established a sister business, Repton & Co,  based in Kent, so we are able to source and supply antiques and garden artefacts nationwide.

Yew Tree Barn is open 6 days a week (closed Monday)
