Artisans, Studios & Antique Dealers

Over the years, Yew Tree Barn has provided accommodation and studio space for a range of independent artisans. The barn is a great place in which to create and sell, and over the years we have had a variety of artists and crafts people working from here, many of whom have outgrown their space and gone on to set up their own independent outside studios, shops and galleries.
If you a creative person looking to work from a wonderful building please do ask about spaces available.

Floristry by Carmen - The Flower Stall at Yew Tree Barn

Floristry by Carmen is the creation of Lake District florist, Carmen Campbell, started  in 2000 when Carmen decided to start her own venture after working as a professional florist in the Lake District for over 10 years. After 18 years at The Flower Stall in the centre of Kendal, she now runs her business from Yew Tree Barn, in Low Newton near Cartmel.

Carmen specialises in Wedding Floristry and has brought her unique, personal, and professional touch to over 1,500 weddings at a wide range of venue styles across the UK for over 25 years.

Carmen also offers beautiful bouquets, posies, and flower arrangements for venues and events, all carefully handcrafted at Yew Tree Barn.

Many of the flowers and foliage used to create Carmen’s signature floristry style are grown in the UK, enhanced with flowers from all over the world, including Holland, Colombia, Italy and Israel. They are sourced fresh and delivered to Carmen daily from the North-West’s leading flower wholesaler.

Carmen is also a passionate gardener and grows a large amount of her own produce at her home as well as in various gardens across The Lake District.

So if you’re looking for something classic, contemporary, locally grown or exotic, Carmen is able to put together the perfect arrangement for you.
