These boards have been adzed to the underside to allow them to fit tightly over joists when they were first laid. It may be necessary to plane them to a standard thickness before laying if you are using joists rather than a solid floor. See details in pics.

One of three batches of period oak floorboards reclaimed for one house. They split into three rooms. Two drawing rooms and one dining room. Each batch is marked and measured separately. Boards are numbered. These came from a property on the Houghton estate in Norfolk and date to around 1740-50

There is a variation in colour where a carpet has been laid down and the boards have been variously stained or sun bleached. We have done tests on these boards using sanding and cleaning using meths and it is possible, with work, to achieve a consistent single colour.

This is a reclaimed antique product, it has been cleaned, lightly brush sanded and is in good condition, but buyers must ensure they check all the photos and discuss with any contractor who may fit this product that it will be fit for the purpose required.
