Timber fire surrounds are a popular, traditional form of chimneypiece. The timber fireplace surround could be made from easily carved soft wood and afterwards be painted to match a stone such as marble, or simply be painted a colour appropriate to the room. We will always aim to have a stock of good quality timber fireplaces and wooden fire surrounds from the 18th and 19th centuries. Our favourite style of fireplace is the bolection form. Other popular Regency and George III styles included bullseye fireplaces, and surrounds incorporating central tablets and neo-classical motifs.
