Beautiful handmade English Beech box decorated by Cumbrian based artist Maria Santos Alcantara. This box was specially commissioned by Maria and made by Eric Manger of Bridlington; made from spalted beech, with black Walnut trim, leather lined dividing tray, French polished and beeswax finished. The pewter veneer uses one of Maria's trademark designs featuring falling trees.
Madrid born Maria uses a combination of enamels, veneers, semi-precious stones or glass in her work creating mirrors, boxes, photo frames and decorative panels. Much of the inspiration for her designs comes from the natural world and the flexibility of pewter enables her to recreate the beauty of nature in every small detail.
